Good morning everyone! Happy July 1st! Did anyone else have bad storms last night? Around here I’m sure the raccoons are wondering where all the new families came from. No one in my town or for several towns around us got much sleep last night. The weather alerts on phones and ipods and NOAA weather radios were going off constantly for a good hour around 11:00, plus all the tornado sirens were going off for about 20 minutes. At one point they turned off and we took a deep breath…..then they started again. My oldest son left his girlfriend’s house when their tornado sirens stopped and it seemed calm and 5 minutes later his brother called him to ask where he was. When he said he was on his way home, his brother told him to turn around and haul *** back because a tornado was coming right at him. Turns out he was right and within 5 minutes of getting back to his girlfriend’s house the house was shaking, doors flew open from negative pressure and a window cracked. I think he saved his brother’s life. All is well today, though. All the raccoons have dragged themselves to work and I cleaned up sticks and branches from the yard. Parts of my town were hit hard and a lot of trees are down, but here it was like God decided that my trees needed a trim so he just cleared some of the dead wood out. Thanks! For everything! I hope everyone else made it through without injury or too much damage also.
Yesterday, during the day, of course, it was a beautiful day, not that I really got to experience it. I was busy taking new (better) pictures of some of my cards and other crafts that I have made and uploading? downloading? my items to Etsy. In case you aren’t aware, I have a love/hate relationship with my camera. I only got 6 items entered and I had had enough. I double checked everything and hit the button. I have to say that I had mixed feelings when the screen yelled, “Your Etsy store is open!” at me. I’m really nervous and excited all at the same time. I’ve only been waiting to push that button for about as long as it takes to make, grow, and deliver a baby! Seriously, I have no idea why I’m so nervous. It’s probably my insecurity that someone won’t like something I made, or more accurately, that no one will like anything I’ve made. I’m very confident when it’s just me.
Anyway, now I’m mostly just excited. I keep checking my email and shop dashboard to see if anyone has visited or bought anything. It’s like starting a new blog that way! I remember checking my stats every day (probably several times) when I first started. Now, I don’t care about the stats, I just enjoy the writing. Of course, I do like when people hit that LIKE button or leave a comment. (hint hint)
I have a busy day today. I have to make cookies and dinner from Mom’s Recipe Box so I have something to write about and I have some new crafts and cards to make for the Market in the Park tomorrow. I should probably clean my bathroom and vacuum up the dog hair too…..nah. I’ve been finishing up several projects and checking things off of my TO DO list so I feel really good and full of energy so I’m going to take advantage of it.
Have a Creative Day!
