How do your kids wake up for school? Grumpy? Happy? Slightly dazed and confused? My oldest used to wake up almost angry. He loves his sleep, always has. My middle child, and he will kill me for this, usually wakes up in a snuggly mood. He wants a hug and a good head or back scratch. My youngest, however, usually wakes up silly. Today, she woke up and said, “Mom, I can’t go to school today.”
This is somewhat unusual for her so I asked, “Why?”
Her reply was, “The sheets have accepted me as one of their own. If I leave now, I might lose their trust.”
I started laughing and couldn’t resist the forbidden hug and telling her how much I love her. What a riot! She very often comes up with funny stuff like that. Was she dreaming of Avatar? Her mind is like an amusement park…you never know what fun thing is going to pop up next! I wrote this one down in the journal that I keep for her because it so hilarious. Note to self: I need to write stuff down more often.
Do your kids have funny ways of waking up…or scary?
