Good morning! I promised myself that I would write everyday….apparently that includes days when I don’t have anything to write about, so let’s see, what can I write about? Oooh, the 12 days of Christmas would be fun…with a twist. “Christmas Day” has 12 letters, so today will be day one and I’ll do the letter C.
C is for Christ, the only reason that we have Christmas. As our gift to the world today, let’s do at least one thing out of the goodness of our hearts, like Christ would. It could be anything! Let’s brainstorm:
- Make an extra special meal for your family
- play with the dog (yes, outside, in the cold, brrrr)
- pay for someone’s coffee (that’s been happening in my town!)
- take a tag from an angel tree and buy gifts for a needy person
- say a prayer for someone
- donate a coat to a coat drive
- donate a toy
- make a stocking and donate it
- fill a stocking and donate it
- write a letter to a soldier
- forgive someone
- visit a nursing home
- donate to a food pantry
- write a letter to a prisoner
- donate blankets to the homeless (you know you can buy them cheap at Wal-Mart!)
- smile….even if you don’t feel like it
- tell someone you love them
- hug a stranger
- thank your dentist for being great (I’m writing that letter today)
- pray for someone who has died (yes, they need it too!)
- give a bottle of dog shampoo to a friend whose dog had a run in with a skunk
- make food for someone who is sick
- offer to massage your husband’s feet (no way he’ll turn you down)
- offer to massage your child’s feet
- call someone you haven’t talked to in a while
- play a game with your child(ren)
- eat only healthy foods today (God wants us to love ourselves too!)
- clean someone’s house for free
- walk someone’s dog for them
- thank a teacher
Ok, that should get you started! Use one of my ideas or be inspired to come up with your own, but DO one thing like Christ today.
Have a great day!
