I have a gardening question on this fine Monday morning. I didn’t pull my plants last fall and the kale is coming back on its own now. First of all, I had no idea that kale would do that and I’m pretty excited. Secondly, will it be the same quality as when I planted it from seed last year? I try not to buy hybrids so it could be a pure plant from the start. That’s my question. I need to know so I can either pull it and start over or just let it grow. I actually had one plant that stayed green all winter and is now growing new foliage. The others browned and wilted, but obviously did not die because they all have new green foliage growing too! These are not new plants this year. The foliage is growing on the old plants.
The hubby planted the seeds in the greenhouse this year. He said he wanted to take over the garden this year so I let him….plus, I’ve been busy. Now, I’m wondering if he’s been watering them or if I need to. I just can’t let it go completely. Control issues? He did give me all the herbs and flowers to do though because they’re my favorite. Or, maybe because I invaded the greenhouse while he was planting and started telling him what to do. It appears we’ll be working on the gardening together this year. It will be an exercise in cooperation for us. Trust me, we need to start now because he retires in 15 years and neither of us is sure how that will turn out.
Until things start growing, here’s a picture of some herbs from years gone by.
Now for the quilt question. This is a picture of the quilt that my daughter wants me to make for her. Does anyone know where I can get the pattern or what it might be called?
Have a great day everyone and thanks for your help!
