So, I’ve been doing some catching up and, in the process, falling behind. I’ve done a lot of mending and hemming and miscellaneous finishing of little projects that have been patiently waiting for me to decide to do them. In the process, I have fallen behind on a quilt that I am making as a gift. I have also been cooking some of my mom’s recipes but have fallen behind on writing posts for them. I have been catching up on laundry and housecleaning and fell behind on gardening. I have been trying to catch up with the gardening, unsuccessfully, and then I fall behind on cleaning and sewing. It’s kind of a crazy circle. I’ve had several ideas for blog posts, not to mention the recipes, but have drawn a blank when I sit down to write, or I hit a snag and just give up. It’s almost like I’m afraid to start blogging again because I’ll fall farther behind with other stuff. In my head, I know this isn’t true because I actually keep up much better when I’m writing. After all, I need to do stuff in order to have interesting things to write about. Besides, I really miss writing. Like I said, crazy circle.
Here is where I’m going to start. I have made several recipes from my mom’s recipe box and I am going to write those posts first. I actually started to write one earlier today and ran into one of those snags I was talking about. I scanned the recipes to my computer and added one to a new post to write about it, but it wouldn’t let me get past the recipe so that I could write. It wanted to keep starting before the picture of the recipe and then, if I tried to use a capital, which is how I usually start my sentences , it would change to color of the font! After about 10 minutes of failing to figure that out I gave up. No, I take that back. I didn’t give up, I just put it aside so I could lose the frustration and start fresh…..which I will……later. I’m looking at a pile of laundry that needs to be folded and it’s very distracting.
I will see you tomorrow, or perhaps tonight, with a new recipe to try!
