Do you have a hobby that you can’t actively do for part of the year? Do you get antsy after a while when you’ve done all the planning you can do and now want to get started on actual projects? I do, it’s gardening. I’m tired of looking at my yard all blah with dead or sleeping plants in my beds or sometimes, as in the case of the vegetable gardens, just plain dirt (with a few weeds growing).
I am so excited to get started on my gardens this year! Last week I ordered all my plants and seeds. I am focusing on edible gardening this year. I will clean up my flower beds and nurture them along, but I am planning on some new beds for vegetables and herbs. I also ordered some berry bushes! And to get them all started, the thing I have wanted for years….drum roll please!……a greenhouse! Yes, I found a good size greenhouse for an even better sized price and we ordered it a couple weeks ago. It should be delivered today! I can’t wait!
A lot of the vegetables I ordered I have never grown before, so I will have a lot of work and learning ahead. Since I love learning it should be quite the adventure for me! The plants I am most nervous about are the pumpkins and gourds and the potatoes. I have never tried to grow either one before, but I’ve heard pumpkins are difficult. The potatoes I just don’t have a clue about so that makes me nervous.
I will go into more detail about specific plants and gardens soon, hopefully. Today, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my greenhouse! I guess my attitude would be cautiously optimistic or perhaps overly optimistic! I ordered a lot of seeds and plants! You know what they say, All things are possible with God. I just have to remember to ask for His help!
So what are you looking forward to? I’d love to hear all about it!
