It snowed all weekend! It wasn’t a blizzard or even a storm, just beautiful big fluffs of snow falling to the ground. It was so beautiful that I sat mesmerized for some time just appreciating and cherishing the beauty of it. It literally brought me a feeling a peace and happiness. Then I realized that I was driving and should probably be paying attention to the road.
It was really beautiful when it was falling and the way it covered everything made it look fresh and new outside. My kids were smiling and happy because they love the snow and have been waiting anxiously for it all year. We didn’t have much last year either, so it’s been a long time. There was talk of snowballs (sorry, not packing snow ) and snowboarding (right snow but not enough ) and sledding (Perfect! ). #3 child went to her friend’s house on the next street and did the sledding(tubing) thing and had lots of fun. They have a large open yard so they (mine and 2 of her friends) tie tubes behind a golf cart and pull each other around. No trees and it doesn’t go very fast so safety was taken care of. I gave her a hug and kiss before she left just in case she didn’t come back anyway. The rest of the crew reminisced about the fun we used to have when we got a lot of snow. You know it’s bad when my guys are talking about the good old days instead of being outside making more of them! The snow brightened everyone’s spirits and brought back happy memories. It even inspired us to build a fire in the fireplace, by us I mean I wanted one so the hubby made one.
Well, I hope each of you enjoys the weather of the moment in your part of the world. Even rainy, gloomy days have a purpose! Maybe you need to stay inside and relax, spend some quality time playing with the kids, or catch up on your favorite tv shows that are recorded on your DVR. Maybe you have a mountain of laundry that needs to be done. *NOTE: I catch up on laundry and tv shows at the same time. I don’t feel like I’m being lazy watching tv in the middle of the day and it breaks up the monotony of folding the laundry.
So, no matter what the weather, find something good in it! You can’t change it so you might as well enjoy it! Have a great week everyone and give someone a great big hug!
