Today I was supposed to quilt with my neighbor, but our plans didn’t work out. Instead of showing you a finished quilt, I will show you some works in progress. I am nearly done with the throw size quilt that I am making for my cousin and his new wife. I first mentioned it back in September in the post Quilt in Progress. I’ve mentioned it a couple of more times since then and am very excited to report that I just have to tie it and bind it. Here’s a sneak peek, but I’m saving the whole picture for when it’s finished.
I am also working on a cathedral window quilt that I learned how to do at a quilt class at the library. I thought I wrote something about it, but I can’t find it. Anyway, this is what it looks like:
It’s very different than the kind of quilting I’m used to. There’s a lot of pressing before you even get started and it’s all sewn by hand. I want it to be a table runner for my sofa table when it’s finished. I might finish by next Christmas! It’s very time-consuming and tedious, but also very satisfying because it’s done completely by hand.
On a slightly different note, I have a couple of decorating projects that are in the works also. I keep forgetting about the camo curtain for the upstairs bathroom as mentioned in the post One Day Bathroom Redo. I will be working on that in the coming week and I have to hem the curtains in my daughters bedroom. They are about a foot too long!
So, these are my works in progress and my works that need to be started. Tomorrow I go to my first quilting club meeting. I will be working on the previously mentioned quilting projects. I’m sure it will be fun! They lady who taught me the cathedral window will be there so she can make sure I am still doing it correctly.
Maybe on Friday I’ll have a ‘Thank God it’s Finished Friday’ post!
