I have been away from my computer since before Christmas. I can’t believe it, since I sometimes think that I’m addicted to it. I got a really nice surprise when I checked in today. My friend, Sue, at The Crafty Pioneer, nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award! That was a huge surprise and a great way to end the year!
I started blogging in August and I have learned so much and made so many blog friends! I already thanked a lot of you in a previous post, Thank You Blogger Friends! To accept the award, I have to nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and tell 7 things about myself. The nominating will be much easier than thinking of 7, I assume interesting, things about myself.

13. http://tiggerrenewing.wordpress.com/
14. http://elainemcnulty.wordpress.com/
15. http://ginaleftthemall.com/
There are many other wonderful blogs that I follow, but I could only pick 15. I know that some of these have already been nominated for this award and therefore, don’t need to redo the “requirements” of accepting. I just wanted to let them know that they have been very helpful and inspiring to me in some way.
Let’s see…7 things about me…..
1. I love to read, especially romance. Nora Roberts is my favorite author.
2. I had one sewing class in high school and have pretty much taught myself everything I’ve learned since then through books and online tutorials and trial and error…a lot of error!
3. I hate the cold, but love snow.
4. I am going to my first quilting club meeting this January. That reminds me…I need to double check the date.
5. I have always wanted to write a book and have it published. I have started several and finished none. I am currently working on a memoir.
6. I am much better at planning than doing. I tend to procrastinate and not follow through.
7. In addition to sewing, I also like to scrapbook and make bead jewelry.
That finishes up this post. It took me about 3 days write this, because I was trying to combine a bunch of stuff into one post. I removed everything else, so I will probably have several posts in a row for the next little while (if my family will let me write). They all feel that they need to interrupt when they see me on my computer. 1 day till husband back to work and 6 days till kids back to school!
This was supposed to be posted by yesterday, but it wasn’t, so Happy New Year! everyone!

Thank you very much for my Versatile Blogger award. I received it once before, but it just as exciting to receive it again, and to be appreciated so much. 🙂 To think that someone is reading, and enjoying, my blog is lovely.

You are very welcome…keep up the good work! 🙂

Thanks so much for reading my blog and the nomination! I hope you enjoy the New Year and that it is full of creative time for yourself…maybe that book!

Congratulations on your well deserved award. Thank you for thinking of my blog. Even though I have received it before…I appreciate when another blogger enjoys my blog. Happy New Year.

My intent was to show appreciation and you have shown yours. Thank you. Happy New Year to you also.
Karen
Your intent was lovely…thanks again.

I always am interested when bloggers write about themselves. I find so may similarities and so many differences. I always wanted to write and illustrate a kid’s book. Maybe when I retire I will. I already created a character in which to base a book. The differences… I can not sew. For the life of me, it is not a talent that I share. My mom was a great seamstress, could knit, crochet, needlepoint, make braided rugs, all the home arts, but that was a talent she did not pass on. Oh, I tried and tried too. You would have liked my mom. She had the same passion you share for sewing.
Thank you very much for honoring GWGT, especially since you have different interests. Like you, I get excited when people share awards and think GWGT is worth the honor. Congrats to you on receiving your award.

That was a very thoughtful comment. Thank you so much. Good luck with your children’s book, even if it takes many more years. Your mom sounds like an amazing woman! So many talents! I also share your love of gardening, although I’m not even close to your skill level, I’m sure. I have already been through the seed catalogs and created my wish list for the coming season. I am currently planning on expanding my garden spaces this spring and will be writing all about it in a future blog post. My winter interests tend to focus more on sewing, but the garden is never really forgotten! I will be back to GWGT to soak up more knowledge.
Thanks again!

I was pretty sure you are an avid gardener. It will be fun to follow your garden plantings. I am a designer, so I look differently at my gardening, but it is very much fun to follow the gardening of others.

Thank you…my husband doesn’t have a name for it yet, but I’m sure it’s coming
