I have gotten pretty far on the quilt that I am making for my cousin’s wedding. The wedding is already next weekend so I really have to work on it every day. These stacks of fabric are what I had done yesterday morning. By mid-day I had more strips cut and sewn together ready to be pressed. These are some close ups of some of the fabrics. As you can see, I have taken over my kitchen table for the duration. It’s really big and works really well. I may have to think about using it all the time. The only drawback is the height. It is a counter height table and chairs and I am only 5 feet tall so I have to stretch the legs a little to reach my sewing machine foot pedal.
Anyway, after lunch I got back to work and by the end of the day I had 3 of 6 rows completely sewn together for the top of the quilt. I should finish the entire top today and finish pressing the seams. Tomorrow I can attach the batting and the back and start whatever comes next. I have to finish reading the instructions. I don’t know if I sew the whole quilt together and bind it first or if I quilt it first. I will read and learn.
Wish me luck on finishing!
In my “About Me” I wrote that my motto is to learn something new everyday, so at the end of each post I am going to write 1 new thing that I learned each day.
9-5-12 I learned a little about Fantasy Football. I watched my oldest son choose who he would play from his team this week, and I learned that each player has fan points and I think that is how you earn points toward winning at the end of the season. Also, you only pick offensive players from individual teams, but a whole defense from one team.
(Feel free to correct anything that I have wrong.)
